To Russia LGBT With Love

On Sunday 6th October Dalston Superstore, TEDxHackney and Culture Device present a day of talks on a subject close to our hearts. Most news-conscious people are all too aware of the current anti-LGBT atrocities being committed in Russia. With the Winter Olympics rapidly approaching and potentially putting both fans and athletes in real personal danger, now is the time for action.

As the host borough for the Olympics last year, Hackney is an ideal place for discussions on this subject to take place.

TEDxHackney, Dalston Superstore and Culture Device have collaborated to create an event to tackle the humanitarian crisis of the LGBT community of Russia featuring a whole host of influential speakers, activists, and artists to look into this crisis and help find a solution and raise awareness.

Speakers confirmed include Jonny Woo, Angela Mason, Bruce La Bruce, Ursula Martinez, Christopher Bryant of Polari Magazine, Owen Jones, Oreet Ashery, Mahmoud Hassino, Paola Revenioti (The Queer Archive), Dean Atta, Panagiotis Chatzistefanou, Dusty O, Lizzie The Lezzy, Nik Thakkar, Jonathan Kemp and Jamie McDermott.

The event will be on Sunday 6th October at the Yard Theatre in Hackney Wick from 1pm onwards with be DJs and drinking afterwards.

Tickets work on a “pay what you can basis” with 30 tickets available at £5, 40 tickets available at £8 and 30 tickets available at £10. Proceeds will go towards an LGBT-related charity, so please give what you can and buy a ticket HERE.

Join us on Sunday 6th October from 1pm onwards for To Russia LGBT With Love at the Yard Theatre in Hackney Wick.
