Dalston Superstore’s weekly party BodySwap invites a new trans* artist, promoter, or organisation to curate a month of Wednesday night parties at the venue. Septmeber guest curator: WIMP

WIMP is a talent agency prioritising trans+ talent, the home for models who exist outside of the rigid binaries of gender. The agency was launched by Xoey Fourr in the early Summer of 2020 as a means of providing support for Trans+ talent in the commercial modelling world. WIMP has initiated a crucial conversation about financial reimbursement for models, especially those who are trans+ and queer. Throughout the month of September, WIMP invites artists from their roster to guest curate a night celebrating trans+ talent.

The curators for this month are Darkwah, Dodo and TrashedBaby. TrashedBaby has walked for Loverboy, is a performance artist, musician and promoter currently focusing on hyperglitch, breaks and idm. Dodo has hosted Dazed workshops and modelled for Michaela Stark, featured on the cover of Metal magazine, and is currently one of the faces of Levi’s. Darkwah is a performer and creator who has spearheaded WIMP workshops and talks for Dazed alongside Burberry as well as featuring in a couple upcoming Tim Walker shoots.

This is a space for trans* power, rage, beauty, resilience, and joy. BodySwap celebrates and platforms trans* artists from diverse backgrounds, while raising crucial funds for organisations that support the community.

All door profits will be donated to a queer organisation or fundraiser of the guest curator’s choosing.
