Dalston Superstore proudly presents the launch and private view of new exhibition, The Kids by Kit Skellingon. The Kids is an exploration of the club scene and Skellington's own feelings of alienation and community within it. You are invited to join us at the launch event: Thursday 20 February 7-9pm Dalston Superstore 117 Kingsland High Street E8 2PB Artist statement: Being trans, I find it hard to feel comfortable and content in my own body, even in large groups of my peers. The kids really reflect that for me. They've all got extra pieces and their bodies don't quite work right and they're all crammed into a space that doesn't really accommodate them properly - just like the rest of us. But despite that, they're still very much a collection and they look amazing together despite the extra bits and pieces getting in the way. They're all individual pieces and confined to their own space, but they all look like they belong together and that's because they do.
