The finale of Butch Boots‘ residency at Transmissions brings you a rare screening of High Shine: 15 Years of International Ms Bootblack (2015), Christina K. Court‘s documentary which lovingly chronicles the history and passion behind over a decade of community, and competitive bootblacking.
Informative, erotic, joyous, funny, and memorable, High Shine gives viewers access to a wealth of collective knowledge on the role of women in the leather scene, as well as voices that go far beyond the white, cis archetype of the leather man.

After the film, the creator of Butch Boots (Riposte, Pop-Up Dyke Bar) will be giving a live demonstration and sharing her own knowledge of leathercare with our lucky audience members.
Join us deep down in the basement of Dalston Superstore, for an extra special edition of Transmissions, a night by and for London’s trans community.
