Transmissions presents: THE MATRIX (1999)

In January at Transmissions, one pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small.
It’s our second year at Dalston Superstore and we’re starting off right with a four-night presentation of the beloved Matrix franchise in its entirety.
We’ll be celebrating Lana and Lily Wachowski‘s cultural juggernaut every Tuesday night, and our first instalment will include showings of shorts from The Animatrix by Mahiro Maeda (Studio Ghibli, Neon Genesis Evangelion) and Shinichir? Watanabe(Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) back to back with the masterpiece that started it all, The Matrix (1999).
Learn the lore that led the machines to rebel and imprison humans in a virtual world, see a stylish animated noir where a detective hunts for a hacker known only as “Trinity”, and finally, follow the white rabbit and face the truth behind the illusion as a man called Neo discovers his destiny.
Join us in our basement home at Dalston Superstore, for the beginning of another season of cinema curated by and for London’s trans community.
“You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.”

Tickets available via OutSavvy

Subtitles will be displayed throughout the film.

Seating is a mixture of benches, backed chairs, bar stools, and floor space, and is first come, first served.
