Transmissions presents: THE MATRIX RELOADED (2003)

On night two of our Matrix retrospective, it’s time to go deeper.
The Matrix is back, and this time it has Monica Bellucci, an orgasm-inducing slice of cake, swords, a Linkin Park track, and – of course – The Cave Rave.
Whether you’re a The Sequels Were Always Good truther, an apostate, somewhere in-between, or even a first-timer, we invite you to witness the continuation of the Wachowskis’ cyberpunk epic that complicates the mythology, infuses an excess of lore, and boasts some of the series’ best action sequences.
While the first film may have offered a more obvious and much-discussed trans analogy, its sequels relish in the deliciously verbose and galaxy-brained murk of it all, building a kind of narrative that is arguably even more transsexual for all of its scale and complexity.
But right before The Matrix Reloaded (2003), join us for screenings of The Animatrixshorts Kid’s Story by Shinichir? Watanabe (Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo) and Final Flight of the Osiris from VFX artist Andy Jones (Avatar), which bridge the gap between the first and second films.
You’ll find us downstairs at Dalston Superstore ready for another night at the movies.
“Choice is an illusion created between those with power and those without.”
Tickets available via OutSavvyhttps://www.outsavvy.com/organiser/transmissions

Subtitles will be displayed throughout the film.

Seating is a mixture of benches, backed chairs, bar stools, and floor space, and is first come, first served.
