Transmissions presents: TOTALLY FUCKED UP (1993)

Few directors could be better suited for the opening night of our March season Queer As In Fuck U: Confrontational Queer Cinema than Gregg Araki, and we are very proud to present a rare screening of the remastered version of one of his early works Totally Fucked Up (1993).
Starring James Duval as the quintessential depressed twink and one of a group of disillusioned queer youths in the first instalment of Araki’s spiritual Teen Apocalypse trilogy, Totally Fucked Up (1993) is an essential beauty of enduring cool and resonance that encompasses shared experiences of love, fear, shame, desire, and a search for meaning in the desolate landscape of Clinton’s America.
Joining us to introduce the film is iconic vibe curator and Araki aficionado takenbymarshall (Internet Culture), and we’ve been sent a special video shout out from James Duval and some very special guests, so make sure you get down early to claim your seat and hear them talk  about this masterpiece of the New Queer Cinema movement.
Find us downstairs at Dalston Superstore ready to christen our brand new weekly Wednesday spot.
“I believe in love! I mean there’s gotta be something for people to cling to besides TV right?”

Subtitles will be displayed throughout the film.
