We interrupt your regular schedule of basking in the sun and/or endlessly complaining about the heat (delete as appropriate) to let you know that PUMPING VELVET is back. And in keeping with the ever rising temperatures it’s going to be a hot one.

Chief instigator of this evening’s entertainment is our long time friend Gwenan. In this age of aggrandising social media strategies and looped clips of club streams Gwenan is that rarest of things – an underground hero who is content just to let her records do the talking. With barely an online footprint to speak of Gwenan’s sheer force of rhythm and idiosyncratic take on classic 90s Techno and Electro has led her to play a slew of the best underground clubs and festivals across the world, as well as landmark mixes for Dekmantel, Resident Advisor and others.

Joining Gwenan in our famed sweat dungeon is Adonis resident and absolute queen of the classy warm up (not that we need it any warmer mind), is Seb Odyssey. With a focus on eschewing trends and seeking out timeless but underappreciated records you can feel Seb’s deep connection to his music with every single mix. Check out this interview and his slinky Smut mix for more insight into his sound.

Flying the flag on the top deck of HMS PV will be our resident Sam PV alongside Rosy Ross & babyschön. Recently moved from Leeds to London (their loss, our gain!), babyschön hosts a regular show on NARR and plays just the kind of lithe and sleazy italo, boogie & synth-pop we love so much.

It’s all set to be a summer slammer! Come PUMP SOME VELVET.
