Transmissions presents: BLACK LIZARD (1968):

In April at Transmissions we are proud to present seven films centering on transfemininity, from a crime caper about a scheming seductress in 1960s Japan, to Swedish emo kids in love, to two of Isabel Sandoval’s best, and a lesser-seen look at the lives of ballroom legends like Octavia St. Laurent.
Week one brings a rare screening of Black Lizard (1968) by Kinji Fukasaku (Battle Royale), starring Akihiro Miwa – one of Japan’s most famous female impersonators – as a ravishing and dastardly femme fatale on the hunt for beauty and on the run from the detective whose pursuit of her is something more like courtship.
Find us downstairs at Dalston Superstore for a film about the power of a stunt well pulled, and the joys of being an evil woman.
“Sleep won’t come easily tonight”

Tickets available via OutSavvy: https://www.outsavvy.com/organiser/transmissions1

Subtitles will be displayed throughout the film.

Seating is a mixture of benches, backed chairs, bar stools, and floor space, and is first come, first served.
