Join us as we take you from her electrifyingly erotic short Shangri-La (2021) right into her breakout feature Lingua Franca (2019); an achingly human drama that parses the anxieties of an undocumented Filipina trans woman living as a carer in New York, and constantly in fear of the cruel deportation that always seems right around the corner, whose life becomes even more complicated when she becomes involved with a man unaware of her transness.
 
This is cinema truly and utterly of transfeminine authorship, a rare and precious gift.
