On the third night of our July season, we screen Petite Maman (2021), a treasure from director Celine Sciamma (Portrait of A Lady On Fire), that is as beautiful as it is resonant.
Telling a delicate story that transcends time and space through a narrative woven with magical realism, Petite Maman follows an eight-year-old girl who has just lost her grandmother, and while helping to clean out her mother’s childhood home, discovers something impossible that will deepen their bond and change them both in ways at once subtle, and huge.
