This July we unveiled our latest exhibition at Dalston Superstore: an exploration of London’s queer fetish & rave history in collaboration with The Bishopsgate Institute & UK Fetish Archive. Naturally, we called on our favourite sleazy soirée… SPANKYS: The leather & latex goth disco of your wet dreams.

From coded & discrete to politically activated & pleasure oriented, London’s queer kink scene has gone through many evolutions over the decades. Today, most fetish bars have closed their doors (London’s longest running leather bar The Backstreet shut up shop in 2022), leaving it up to dedicated promoters & sex positive venues to keep kink in the conversation. SPANKYS is a soirée for the generation that missed out on fetish bars of the bygone era, and those who want a taste of it all over again.

Queer, SW & fetish communities continue to be censored by Meta’s arbitrary community guidelines. We won’t be bound by them to show off one of one of the most risqué nights in Superstore’s 2025 calendar. Tyler Kelly captured the last SPANKYS in April- scroll on for salacious delights…

SPANKYS saunters back through our red hot corridor this Friday, with a lineup boasting leatherettes & ruberrists galore. Upstairs, goth icon Princess Julia heats up the dancefloor with synth pop & 80s delights, before Wraith Club resident Less Than Human serves New Wave & EBM on a silver platter. Ugly Drugless closes out with pumping italo oddities.

In the basement we’re serving DARK DISCO / PURE SEX all night long, with Elander Ziggy heating up before GASH! mother, Proteus takes the reigns. We close out with a long awaited set from Slimelight & Dark Room curator, Ricardo Castro.

Burlesque legend Marie Devilreux & kink angel Rotten Babe serve nonstop sultry atop the bar all night long.
