Gauche Presents: Spotlight on Lupe

Gauche Presents: Spotlight on Lupe

“There is nothing to be scared of in each other. Nightlife is the designated area to overcome our differences in daily life, where we see each other freely in a new light.” - LUPE

With their second hotly-anticipated deep xxxstasy function of 2024 just around the corner, GAUCHE has cemented itself as one of London’s fiercest soirées – with consistently fresh and diverse guests from across the globe. With that said, we were delighted to sit down and dish the dirt on all time fave club-trax with April’s legendary headliner – the inimitable LUPE.
A certified icon, the queen of Amsterdam. A resident of Parish at PiP Den Haag and Red Light Radio, with a catalog of widely-celebrated recordings on Twirl, Love Child and Pets Recordings. Their seductive and singular take on acid, classic house and percussive techno has taken them across the globe – joining lineups alongside Honey Dijon, Hercules and Love Affair, Prosumer, Steffi and more.
From their beginnings as a go-go dancer, evolving from club-kid extraordinaire into a true dance music connoisseur – their unique story is of a life fiercely devoted to the dancefloor. So make no mistake children – this set will be one for the records.
Let’s go!
1. LUPE – Size Queen
‘Confession, an autobiographical title.’
2. BARBARA TUCKER – Stay Together (Armand’s ‘Crazy Trauma’ Mix)
‘House music is my home when I make music, the glue that holds it together. I love long, time-defying tracks, good vocals, like this one.’
3. ZEBRA KATZ – ‘Ish (Lauren Flax Remix)
‘Loving everything about it.’
‘God bless electroclash. During this era I started out as a party organizer and promoter, before DJ’ing and producing, since then I did more than 100 regular and one-off events in Amsterdam.’
5. LUPE – Give Me Body (feat. Josh Caffe)
Final track. London here I come :*
